NOTE: “Tomodachi” means “friend” in Japanese

I stumbled upon this cartoon on Sankaku Complex.  It was drawn by a man in Hokkaido and says, “To everybody in the U.S. 7th Fleet: Thank you. The Japanese people will not be beaten.”  I thought this was a pretty cute drawing.  However, some people have tried to make a big deal out of what is nothing but a harmless cartoon expressing thanks for America’s help.  Basically, people believe this shows America’s overbearing nature.  The American flag is bigger, the bald eagle is bigger than the green pheasant (the national bird of Japan…some Japanese don’t even know it’s their national bird), and the pheasant is beat up.  C’mon people.  Stop trying to make something outta nothing.
