Paul Now Available on Blu-ray! And My Meeting with Simon Pegg!

Paul is now available for purchase on Blu-ray and DVD (it actually came out yesterday but really who keeps track of the dates?).  For those of you who don’t know, Paul is the latest film by British comedy duo Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.  There other works include the critically acclaimed films Shaun of the Dead and my brother LIFE44’s favorite movie Hot Fuzz.  I never saw Paul in theaters, so I’m excited to be able to finally watch what appears to be another excellent film by Pegg and Frost.  Hey it doesn’t hurt that Seth Rogen is the voice of the titular alien Paul.  The premise seems funny enough; two English comic book nerds and best friends have travelled to America to attend the annual San Diego Comic-con convention and to take a road trip in their RV to visit all the sites of major extraterrestrial importance.  One their way, they meet Paul, and the madness begins.  Sweet.  Anyways if you’re a Simon Pegg fan like me, then you’ll definitely pick this one up.

Also, I regrettably have not had the time to put this up until now, but back in June (the 13th specifically), Simon Pegg was doing a book signing right here in NYC at Strand bookstore! What book was he signing?  His own autobiography Nerd Do Well: A Small Boy’s Journey to Becoming a Big Kid.  Go buy a copy if you can, it’s a great read.  Knowing he was going to be here, I, like any other loyal fan, waited in line for nearly 5 hours just to meet him, take a few pictures, and have my book signed.  Sure it was long, but it was totally worth it.  I even wore my Winchester Pub shirt from Shaun of the Dead which gave Simon a good laugh.  Unfortunately, Simon informed me the Winchester was no longer around. Sad 🙁 Well here are the customary photos:

Simon actually didn't look too happy in this pic...my girlfriend got a good laugh looking at his face XD.
