There is simply no way that someone like myself (a DIE hard Mass Effect fan) can possibly fathom the torturous delay that the franchise is currently enduring en route to the epic finale. In the meantime, there’s still plenty of opportunity for “pre-launching,” “modern warfare-ing,” “bioshocking,” and (of course) “presenting.” None of which can conceal the unpleasant reality that school must come first before any leisure can be fully appreciated. While I’m a FIRM believer that Mass Effect 3 will be well worth the wait, the fact that I have (at long last) grown tired of playing through the Mass Effect 1&2 campaigns (400+ hours cumulatively speaking) makes the wait even harder. As proud as I am for having put in the considerable amount of time needed to achieve the proper palythroughs (one Paragon Super Soldier -and- one Biotic Bitch) it’s still a bummer to have to admit (after all this time) that Mass Effect 2 is definitely not perfect. More to the point, if anyone should be concerned about ludicrous expectations, it’s Mass Effect 3. Not only does the 3rd and final installment bear the weight and pressure of living up to all the narrative promises and satisfying conclusions, Bioware must understand that now with a delay the final product can be nothing short of a masterpiece. Lofty goal? Yes. But hey, they brought all theses epic promises on themselves when they decided to make my (and many others) favorite game of all time.
