Mortal Kombat Reboot Official

Every Mortal Kombat fan’s dream has come true–the franchise is getting a film reboot.  Thank god. New Line Cinema (owned by Warner Bros.) has officially given the green light on the project, and they’ve hired Kevin Tancharoen to direct.  If you remember, Tancharoen directed the wildly entertaining Mortal Kombat: Rebirth, which spawned the Mortal Kombat: Legacy webseries on Machinima.  I’m glad that Tancharoen was hired to direct; he’s moar than earned the right to head this project.  I’m interested to see what Tancharoen does with the movie; will he make it moar realistic, like Rebirth and the Legacy episodes featuring Raiden and Cyrax and Sektor?  Or will he make it moar fictional, like how the series has traditionally been? I’m leaning toward the former.  In fact, I don’t think it’s even a question which way he will take the movie.  He went through all the trouble of making a realistic Mortal Kombat in order to get Warner Bros. on board for a reboot.  And he’s hooked ’em.  I’m wishing Tancharoen the best of luck; don’t let us down! (No pressure XD.)
