Judge here making a quick appearance from the dead to give his picks for Sai Mecha 2012. Fellow writers Laevatein and Kaushik have also submitted their picks. So what is Sai Mecha 2012? It’s a contest that was started last year by ExecutiveOtaku of THAT Anime Blog. Basically, people submit their 10 favorite mecha. The 32 mecha with the most nominations will be put into a randomized bracket and split into the Earth Side and Colonies Side. Then the chaos ensues. Big thanks to Kuro for informing me about this. The Original Gundam aka The Original Ass Kicker
- RX-78 Gundam – Mobile Suit Gundam. Reason: Nothing beats the original.
- Gurren-Lagann – Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Reason: This thing pierces the heavens.
- MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom – Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. Reason: One of the coolest Zeon mobile suits…when used by a competent pilot.
- PTX-003C Alteisen – Super Robot Wars. Reason: Its “revolving stake” weapon on the right arm is badass.
- RZA-10JS Percival – Code Geass. Reason: I’ve always liked the way it looked…and its interesting armaments.
- XXXG-01H2 Gundam Heavyarms Kai – New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. Reason: Look at all those guns. Just beautiful.

- Dann of Thursday – Gun X Sword. Reason: This thing is one giant sword. Fucking awesome.
- PMX-003 The O – Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Reason: Ever since I saw Scirocco pilot this bad boy, I’ve been a fan. Hidden arms ftw.

- Noble Gundam – Mobile Fighter G Gundam. Reason: Everyone loves Sailor Moon Gundam!

Not the biggest SRW fan, but the Cybuster is cool. Chose Alteisen because it's the one I'm most familiar with. Have a figure of it. And it's red…

Cybuster is a poor man's Shurouga, and due to the rules I couldn't nominate that, so…
Plus, there are a bunch of SRW OG mechs that'd get into my list if games and stuff were allowed.
And Shouroga is a poor man's Cybuster. I don't know, I like Masaki more than Asakim, but I do like Shouroga's BGM more than the Cybuster's.
Well at least we can all agree that the best OG mech is clearly the DaiRaiOh.
