Hello again. LIFE posted an article on his assigned day two weeks in a row? Crazyyyy. But anyways we are here to talk about StarCraft 2 ladies and gents. My fav game :D

So what about StarCraft 2 you ask? BALANCE YO. Is the Wings of Liberty version of StarCraft 2 balanced as of right now (May 2012)? I say nay. Why? Because Terran is getting nerfed, Protoss is getting buffed to the max, and Zerg is…well in between buffed and nerfed. So let us begin.

Terran is getting nerfed to the max. About a year ago, Terran was the most dominant race because the Korean eSports team SlayerS created builds that allowed them to excel far beyond the other races. Blue-flamed hellions, 1-1-1 all-ins or what Husky StarCraft likes to call it the Destiny Cloud Fist build, bunker rushing, reaper rushes pre-patch for speed upgrade. Man the list goes on, ghost nerf of EMP and snipe. Man the list is sooo long. I mean as someone who know plays all three races at a Diamond level of play, I can honestly say that Terran is by far the weakest race now. Too many nerfs is killing the race and even BroodWar legend Flash is saying that Terran is the weakest race. Now let us move to Protoss, too much negativity here. Continue reading »

Oh Charlotte Dunois, how I love you so! It’s a great time to be a Charlotte and figure fan. Why, you may ask? Well I was roaming AmiAmi this morning (as I do every morning), and something instantly caught my eye: a Charlotte Dunois bunny style figure (she’s nearly sold out in every store, and it hasn’t even been a whole day since she was made available!). I immediately jumped for joy as the figure is based on one of my favorite illustrations of Tomoyasu Kurashima, the character designer of Infinite Stratos. The said illustration is the one above. Here’s a picture of the figure itself, part of the 4-Leaves series by Kotobukiya:

Guild Wars 2 fanatics, the second beta weekend event has been announced! Earlier today, Chris Whiteside of Arena Net made a post on their official blog detailing when the event would be.

Beta Weekend Event 2 will begin on Friday, June 8th, at noon PDT (GMT-7) and will run until SundayJune 10th, at 11:59 p.m. PDT (GMT-7).

If you know anyone who has been raving about this game, expect them to go M.I.A. once again next weekend. Also, there’s moar good news! Your existing characters have not been deleted, and if you have one that is level 35 or higher, you’ll finally be able to explore the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon.

Many of the complaints raised in the first beta weekend event have apparently been addressed; these include party movement into overflow servers, chat functionality, key bindings, server stability, and performance to name a few. I’m glad to hear this, as I was unable to play with friends due to the overflow of players and overall server stability. Lag was also a huge issue for many, so it’s good to see performance has been addressed.

I never really did give my first impressions of the first beta event. I’ll try to have something up in the coming days leading up to the event; you might be surprised at what I think of the game. In the meantime, take a look at some video I recorded (with lame commentary) below.

One last word to all fans of the game: try not to die of anticipation. The second beta weekend event will be here sooner than you think :)
