With the anniversary of my column continuing, I decided to make another list. Yesterday, I talked about some of my favorite lesser known comic characters…but realized they were all men. Thus, this post is dedicated to my favorite ladies in comic books. Read on to see just who made the cut!
So I have only seen one of the Resident Evil movies and I wasn’t in love with it. But I do love the Resident Evil franchise with a passion even though the fourth game kind of sort of made me a terrible Spaniard…but anyways, I don’t know anyone who actually watches these movies seriously, if at all.
But when I saw there was a new one coming out, how could I not watch it like the trailer junkie I am? And this is what I saw:
So…I am going to keep this as calm and cool headed as humanly possible. Because I am a critic and a skeptic and must refuse to believe that Hollywood would make anything that would actually respects the fans of the source materials. But…
There’s been a lot of talk going around about the latest Hitman: Absolution, which is apparently sexist toward women. I’m here to tell you it’s not–if observed through proper context. First off, we’re talking about Hitman here. Hitman for Christ’s sake! The entire Hitman universe is dark, gritty, and non-sensical. It didn’t surprise me in the least bit that there were killer nuns wearing latex. And why are people getting outraged that Agent 47 is killing them in a brutal manner? They’re assassins trying to kill him; it’s only natural he defend himself. He’s not a saint–he’s a stone-cold killer.
Despite denying a crossover at E3, Valve is indeed working with PAYDAY: The Heist developer Overkill Software on a heist level called PAYDAY: No Mercy, set in Mercy Hospital. From the trailer, it appears the bank robbers from Payday begin the infection that leads to the events of Left 4 Dead.
1. 0:34-0:37: “We’re here to draw some blood from a guy that they have in quarantine.”
2. 1:39: “You’re [beep] 4 dead.”
I can’t wait to test this level out and explore some L4D lore; I also really like the fact that Valve is letting other devs experiment with their franchises. Let’s hope a release date is announced soon.
