You cannot talk about K-Pop, nay, even Asian pop in general without mentioning the super popular, larger-than-life girl idol groups that rules them all, Girls Generation. Also known as SNSD, they rule the school as far as the Asian music scene goes. They have thousands upon thousands of fans, both male and female, and have all the talent, poise, and dedication to back up their impressive track record.
They rock so hard, they don’t just dominate the Korean market, and have a huge mass of fans in the English market, but also have produced a number of successful Japanese language tracks. Unlike a lot of other artists in the industry, who just re-record one or two of their singles, or do a Japanese album, Girl’s Generation released original single available in Japanese only. And not the left-overs that won’t sell in Korea, but really strong, fun songs that just prove their pop pedigree. So, their new J-track Paparazzi released in June. Does it shine like a 1000 flashing bulbs, or crash like an unbelievable scandal?
