Romantic Comedy Nodame Cantabile to Get One-Shot Manga in February

nodame-cantabile-one-shotThe March issue of Kodansha’s Kiss magazine revealed on Monday that Tomoko Ninomiya will publish a one-shot manga for her Nodame Cantabile manga series in the magazine’s next issue, which will be published on February 25. The story will revolve around Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3.

Ninomiya originally launched Nodame Cantabile in Kiss in 2001. The series ended in 2009 with 23 book volumes being compiled. Del Rey published 16 volumes in North America until they ceased publishing manga back in 2010. In late 2009, Ninomiya started a short sequel series called Nodame Cantabile – Opera Hen. The series ran until 2010 with 2 book volumes being compiled. Nodame Cantabile was a smash hit, with three television anime series, a live action drama, and film adaptations being produced.

Currently, Ninomiya is working on her 87 Clockers manga, which launched in Shueisha’s Jump Kai magazine in 2011.
