Hey guys! Remember that impressions I did of UN-GO, from way back? Well after watching the series, and being rather disappointed with the sub-par and predictable ending in addition with the lack of closure, I was hoping that the prequel OVA to the series could do it some justice. Like what Gaiden was to Gemini (Darker than Black), I hoped Inga-ron would offer me some proper answers. Ultimately, I got what I wanted, but I’ve still my set of complaints! So let’s analyze some anime!

Let the magic begin!

Hey MoarPowah! How’s it going? It’s been a while since my last review, and considering how the new anime season has just started, I figured it’s time for another post. This time I’ll be doing a first impressions on Bones’ anime adaptation of Sakaguchi Ango’s Meiji Kaika Ango Torimono-chō, which the studio has named UN-GO.

Now, just to put it out there, I’m a fan of Studio Bones; they’ve been fairly consistent with the quality of their shows, and they did churn out my all-time favorite anime movie, Sword of the Stranger. I’m also a huge sucker for the detective genre. Therefore, I might be a little biased in my review of the first episode, but I will try to be my usual disdainfully demanding critic.

Without further ado, itadakimasu!

Heeeey MoarPowah! Long time no see. I haven’t written a review in a while since my weekly posts have just been the Guoventures series, but I’m finally going to write some more anime reviews. On today’s menu is No.6, Bones’ futuristic action-fantasy offering to the Summer 2011 Anime Season. Just from the poster you can tell the show will have plenty of BL-undertones, but considering how it was first based on a (completed) light novel series, and then serialized as a manga, I still had high hopes for this show. Let’s see how I liked it?

Without further ado, let’s dig in! Itadakimasu~
