Ranking #2 on my top 12 anime of 2012, it was really only a matter of time ’till I reviewed this season. I already have a review for Jormungand, where I praised the first season quite profusely. Jormungand Perfect Order aired from October 10 to December 26, 2012.  For this second season, things really hit the fan in Jormungand. Instead of being a series of interconnected stories, a more cohesive plot emerged. A lot of characters received some major development, and over all it felt like a bigger experience to be a part of. But not everything was roses and sunshine in Perfect Order.

Pluffei’s Top 12 Anime of 2012

It seems the end of the year is nearing, and so passes another year of anime. Frankly, this was not a strong anime year for me, and I struggled a lot towards the bottom of my top 12, just because those shows actually felt pretty mediocre. Nonetheless, here I am, jumping in the bandwagon and doing a follow-up of this year’s top anime series. These are only out of the shows I watched this year, so if I missed a great show, I’m terribly sorry, but I probably didn’t watch it. (Gonna put it out there now, but I didn’t watch enough of Fate/zero to formulate a good opinion on it, which is why it’s not here.)

Kaushik’s Top 12 Anime of 2012

So 2012 is nearing to a close, and so are the anime series that have started (and ended, mostly) in this year. I was wanting to take a retrospective look on the anime this year, so I’ve compiled a list of my top 12 anime from this year, from 12 to 1. Without further ado, let’s begin~!

12. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun

Making number twelve is a show from the current anime season. I usually don’t like to pass judgement on series before they’re done, but I’ve really been enjoying this show. It’s a shoujo show, but it definitely feels a little different than the generic shoujo that’s put out every once in a while. Refreshingly, the two main characters are blunt and honest to the point of being a little crazy, and it’s fun to watch. The heroine, Mizutani Shizuku, is mega-cute and is definitely one of the top girls this season. Shoujo generally gets the short end of the stick when it comes to anime, but surprisingly 2012 has been a fairly strong year for shoujo in anime, as you’ll see with the rest of the list.

Review: Jormungand

Taking a little break from Metroid this week (and possibly a few weeks, I’m a little burnt out). Plus those games take a while to beat. Back to anime for now, with Jormungand. Honestly, I was going to do a spring 2012 recap for all the spring shows I watched but I got way too far behind and have just recently finished the spring season… Haven’t even started summer yet. Anyway, back to Jormungand. It aired from April to June of this year, for a total of twelve episodes. While the show ended fairly cleanly (it’d be hard for a show like this not to, I guess), there IS a second season slated for I believe the fall anime season, so look forward to that if you like what you read (and consequently see) here. The studio behind this show is White Fox, whom I’ve honestly never heard of. They’ve done Katanagatari and Steins;Gate though, and those are some pretty big projects, so their pedigree is okay. So let’s get into the meat of this show.

Happy Independence Day everyone! So the season ended a while ago, but I didn’t figure to write this until today. Why? Well, I figured I’d eventually write reviews for all the anime I’ve watched, but considering my endless list, that’ll take forever.
