Here we are on a Tuesday and what are we talking about? Call of Duty, yet again…I know I am kinda bored of it too but man oh man does it rule our lives sometimes. In this post I’ll attempt a dialogue with…myself.

Matt: So what are we talking about in terms of CoD today?

Matt: MULTIPLAYER.

Matt: What about multiplayer, Matt?

Matt: Ah good question Matt…we are gonna discuss if it CoD multiplayer is dead or not.

Matt: Lovely topic Matt. Please go on. Continue reading »

E3 2012. What do I have to say? NINTENDO SAVE US!!! … PIKMIN 3!!! I’ve waited like 8 years (since Pikmin 2 came out) for this game and it is finally coming out on the Wii U. What are my expectations and wants? Here they are.

New Pikmin man. I want some new pikmin to throw around. Pikmin 2 introduced us to 2 new species of pikmin with purple and white. I don’t want them to destroy the simplicity of pikmin, so I want them to create another pikmin that does this. Of course we can do a pikmin that could harvest things more efficiently, which would allow you to produce more pikmin out of the onion. Another idea could be something that could burrow…I mean they are plants right? IGN wrote an article that said they would love to see a green pikmin that could heal their fellow plantmen. Personally I think this would destroy the game because it removes the simplicity of the battle and health system. I want new things but nothing that destroys the gameplay of it. So yeah…no healers. Hello again. LIFE posted an article on his assigned day two weeks in a row? Crazyyyy. But anyways we are here to talk about StarCraft 2 ladies and gents. My fav game :D

So what about StarCraft 2 you ask? BALANCE YO. Is the Wings of Liberty version of StarCraft 2 balanced as of right now (May 2012)? I say nay. Why? Because Terran is getting nerfed, Protoss is getting buffed to the max, and Zerg is…well in between buffed and nerfed. So let us begin.

Terran is getting nerfed to the max. About a year ago, Terran was the most dominant race because the Korean eSports team SlayerS created builds that allowed them to excel far beyond the other races. Blue-flamed hellions, 1-1-1 all-ins or what Husky StarCraft likes to call it the Destiny Cloud Fist build, bunker rushing, reaper rushes pre-patch for speed upgrade. Man the list goes on, ghost nerf of EMP and snipe. Man the list is sooo long. I mean as someone who know plays all three races at a Diamond level of play, I can honestly say that Terran is by far the weakest race now. Too many nerfs is killing the race and even BroodWar legend Flash is saying that Terran is the weakest race. Now let us move to Protoss, too much negativity here. Continue reading »

Hello, hello ladies and gents. I am back…yet again…and again? Ha just kidding…but for real…I really am back. Summer is here, finals are done, and I am chilling. So you’re thinking right now “I am reading an article to welcome back LIFE44? WTF!” NO YOU AREN’T! I am here to talk about something we all loved…or hated in the Call of Duty franchise (well for Treyarch at least) – zombies.

Now with the franchise coming out with another Call of Duty game produced by Treyarch (the proclaimed saviors of the franchise*) titled Black Ops 2 this November 13, 2012 we all have questions about the singleplayer, multiplayer, and what I think is the best part of Treyarch games – zombies.

So with the introduction done, let us begin. What do I think of Black Ops 2 Zombies from what we as a community have heard? I think it could be a huge failure. I loved the original World at War zombies because of the maps and the weapons…Black Ops Zombies seemed like they did too much for the game mode and from what we are hearing from this zombies I am not liking it. You are probably saying “rumored 8 player zombies? What you talkin’ bout fool, that’s awesome!” But if you are traditional guy like me (in terms of CoD zombies) then you don’t really want change for this game mode in CoD but more of a retake of the classical zombie maps, weapons, and feel for it.

I mean come on…gun glitching in Der Reise was awesome right? Gun glitching in the old maps made it thrilling. Not only gun glitching but the maps felt more…thought out and smoother. The maps had finesse and almost every part of the map could be used in some way as a strategy. In the second version of zombies, the maps seemed too big and the things they put in were too over the top and made the gameplay feel like you had some sort of timer or responsibility. I remember in the map Call of the Dead the game felt paced because of outside characteristics of the map (water, dude with the giant hammer, easter eggs becoming a huge part of the game). I want the original good old Der Reise feel of zombies and that is it.

From what I am seeing I want zombies – not multiplayer** – to be a more traditional style like World at War. Only time will tell what Treyarch actually does for the game mode but I have my doubts of it but also my hopes that the new additions (the little we know) will prove me wrong. Until then ladies and gents, I am out.

Cheers, Matt aka LIFE44

*I shall talk about this in another article.

**I’ll talk about this later as well ha.

So here we are on this lovely Tuesday, but you ask yourself what do I have in store for you. Well if you are blind or just didn’t even read the title I am going to talk about this lovely, epic last season of the show House and my thoughts on the previous 7 seasons of the show. So to sum it all up: what I thought about the show House. Let us begin.

Hey guys, long time no see.  I’m finally back and ready to dish out some more “LIFE Lessons.”  So Blizzard recently came out with their “Situation Report” Patch 1.4.3, and what little goodies came with it Let’s take a look…if you haven’t seen it already.

1) MULEs now harvest the same amount of minerals on both high yield minerals and normal minerals.

Hmm, well basically they are free SCVs, right? But they mine faster…right? So yeah…GOOD JOB BLIZZARD! High yield mineral patches are no longer OP when playing against a Terran! YESSSSSSSS!

2) Snipe damage changed from 45 to 25 +25 Psionic

Hmm, what does Matt think about this? Well Matt can sum it up in two words: “FUCKING FINALLY.” It took Blizzard long enough to realize the Ghosts were clearly the best unit to use against TvP and TvZ match ups. Snipes literally turn all Zerg tier 3 units to a pile of blood and guts and sniping High Templar are quite frustrating as a Protoss player. FUCKING FINALLY.

3) Phoenix now has a range upgrade at the Fleet Beacon

Hmm…uhhh….errmm…4v4 Phoenix play now becomes MOAR fun? Yeah that’s about it. Other than that I’d have to actually see what it does in a 1v1 match up against a flock of Mutalisks. So we shall have a follow up post patch.

*To be honest, I’m neutral on this. Not sure how it will affect the game…honestly I think it will neutralize Mutalisk play versus Protoss but then again the Fleet Be[acon] is a long long ways plus the additional money for the upgrade…hmm we shall see.

4) APM / CPM changes

APM v CPM…finally Blizzard, bwwaaaa and I love to see how fast we can spam our keys (we judge how good you are on your APM, LOLOLOLOLOL). The EPM which stands for Effective Actions Per Minute will be the Blizzard way of tracking APM which only counts one keystroke as opposed to the twenty-bagillion times you spam the “e” key to make a probe. Well gents…and ladies…that’s all folks. Til next time.

The text speaks for itself. *drewbie* -"well how would you have played it?" *idra* - i wouldn't play terran cuz i have self respect"

So here we are again. 168 hours later. I am writing another post. Now last week I did a MW3-BF3 comparison/ contrast/ whatever you want to call it. This week I am here to discuss Starcraft 2 because my mind has been on it with the IPL3 that occurred this past weekend and MLG Orlando and IEM NYCC occurring this weekend. I am here to write about the unbalance issues in StarCraft 2. Let us begin.

So, ladies and gents. I am here today to talk to you, the audience reading this, why I am buying Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 by Activision and Infinity Ward (with Sledgehammer and Raven Software) over the highly anticipated Battlfield 3 by Electronic Arts and DICE. There are various reasons and some of them might sound silly to you and some (the BF3 fans) will call me insane but I am willing to tell you and more importantly here to tell you why I believe MW3 will be the better game. So, let us begin. Continue reading »

So boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen…I’m sure you have all heard and probably seen (if you haven’t GO WATCH THEM NOW!) my Left 4 Dead 2 Videos that I post on my YouTube channel. You all are probably going, “Well LIFE, I have seen them, but how do you make them?” The answer to that question my good friend is right here. Here is the process (a rough draft of it at least) of how I make my Left 4 Dead 2 videos. I use Sony Vegas Pro 10 by the way for my editing.

Step 1. First off you must record the content. The dialogue needs to be funny, and more importantly just enjoy yourself. Play with friends and just screw around and such and when you go back and watch the film you will see what is funny or not. So write it down folks. Play with your friends and record with a recording software such as Fraps or Playclaw. Hint: When you record, make sure the output file is going to a separate hardrive on what the game is actually installed onto. This helps your processors and other computing things. So ladies and gents I am sorry for the delay of this post but it is what it is, right…? Erm moving on. Some of you may know Andy Whitfield, whether it be from the TV show Spartacus: Blood and Sand or from the freddiew video that I posted in my last entry. On September 11, 2011 (eerie eh?), Andy Whitfield passed away. Sad, yes. Very sad, even more so. Mr. Whitfield died from  non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He was diagnosed in March 2010 and managed to battle it for 18 months. All that aside he was a great actor and I will miss him dearly as I am sure all of his fans, family, and friends will.

Whitfield as Spartacus.

Whitfield died in Australia with his family and wife by his side. He was only 39 when he passed away. This post is for a tribute to him and I know it is literally 9 days late but still, I wanted to post this. He was one of my favorite actors and I enjoyed his role in Spartacus Blood and Sand and more importantly freddiew ‘s video haha. But ladies and gents that is all for you today and I would just like to say: Have a nice day!

Whitfield at the San Diego Comic Con in 2010.
