Over the summer we had the illustrious return of Toonami to our airwaves. Now a Saturday Midnight Run, all of the anime on [adult swim] has been moved there and Steve Blum is back hosting as Tom. At the return summer we had Deadman Wonderland, which was fantastic as a fit for the block. But now that it’s over and Samurai 7  is in, where does Cartoon Network head when that’s over too as well as Casshern Sins? We can’t just have reruns forever, so here’s five shows I think would be good for new Toonami in no particular order.

Well, hey everyone! I hope your week’s going pretty well, but if not, well. IT’S FRIDAY! Yeah! And you know what else is special about Friday? Nothing else…except the fact that I’m going to review Deadman Wonderland, to commemorate the return of Toonami, as per requested by a certain slave-driving Editor-in-Chief (not naming names here!). Jokes aside, I just marathoned the show yesterday, so it’s still pretty fresh in my head. And, the show was pretty darned good, so I’m glad I watched it. So let’s dig in, itadakimasu! Hey guys, remember back in April when I said that Cartoon Network threw Toonami up on April Fools much to the delight of fans nationwide? What started out as a joke became an internet phenomenon that trended Tweets, Facebook feeds, and cluttered my tumblr dash. Yet the fans also knew that this was a one-time-thing, an April Fool’s joke done (maybe) in bad taste by giving people what they wanted and missed only to take it away for good.

Well, Toonami fans, fret no more, for tonight May 26th at 12:00 AM EST, Toonami is rebooting with two new shows and old-time favorites. But, whether it stays for good is truly dependent on public opinion; fan-campaigns to ensure the continued success/funding of a Toonami block stress that people need to watch it in order to get the “good stuff” on air.
