BRONIES, BRONIES, EVERYWHERE!
Bronycon is the premiere My Little Pony convention on the American east coast. This year marks the second consecutive year of this con’s existence, and taking a look at the attendance rate, it does not appear to be going away any time soon.
Bronycon 2012 was held in Secaucus, NJ at the Meadowlands Expo Center. The attendance records for that convention state that over 4000 Bronies attended last year. This year, however, that number was nearly doubled. Between staff, guests, and attendees, just over 8000 people were recorded to have attended Bronycon 2013.
Personally, I am not new to Bronycon. I attended Bronycon 2012 in NJ, as well as what some would call the “prototype” Bronycon in January of last year. Compared to those experiences, I can say that this has been the best Bronycon thus far.
This year’s Bronycon was hosted at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, MD, making it a much larger venue than last year’s.
Bronycon offers much in the way of entertainment for a fan of MLP. Several premiere voice actors from the show made appearances such as Kathy Weseluck, Nicole Oliver, and Lee Tockar.
However, these guests were not what interested me in attending Bronycon this year. Instead I was more interested in the creative team behind the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic comic series being released by IDW.
The writer, artist, and colorist of the book held a panel on the final day of Bronycon, and I was lucky enough to get the full experience for those of you left at home!
